Colour Block

Colour Block is a single idea executed cleanly. One tile on the board is safe. You get a few seconds to fix it in your mind, the board shuffles, and then you have to point at it again.

It escalates every round, and it starts unforgiving. Master rank opens on twelve tiles with four and a half seconds to commit, and gets meaner from there. Like Last Card, it is a Pro-exclusive game.

How to play

  1. The board reveals with one safe tile marked.
  2. Memorise the safe tile before the pick timer starts.
  3. The board shuffles.
  4. Pick the safe tile back out.
  5. Survive and the next round adds more tiles and less time.

How to get better at Colour Block

Anchor to an edge

A tile identified as "third from the left edge" survives a shuffle in your memory far better than a tile you remembered as a colour in the middle of a crowd. Always attach the safe tile to a fixed reference point.

Commit in the first second

The extra time at the end of the reveal window is where doubt creeps in and people talk themselves out of a correct memory. Lock your answer early and spend the remaining seconds rehearsing it, not reconsidering.

Expect to fail at twelve

Master rank is designed to end runs. If you are chasing a long run rather than the rank, Advanced at ten tiles and five seconds is meaningfully more survivable.

Common questions

How is this different from Pattern King?

Pattern King asks you to hold a whole grid and clear several tiles from it. Colour Block asks you to hold exactly one tile through a shuffle, then escalates the tile count and cuts the time every round.

Why is it Pro-only?

It sits alongside Last Card as one of the two games reserved for Chillverse Pro members on the Orbit and Void tiers. Everything else in the catalogue is open to free accounts.
