Word Blitz
Word Blitz puts a target word at the top of the screen and rains letters down five lanes beneath it. You tap them in order to spell the word out. Simple to describe, and genuinely frantic by the third speed tier.
Two combo systems run at once. Word Combo builds fast on every correct letter and resets to nothing the moment you slip. Chain Combo climbs more slowly and rewards whole words caught without a single mistake, so it favours patience over greed.
Watch for letters that flash red mid-fall. Tapping one while it is glowing costs you, even if it was the letter you needed.
How to play
- A target word appears at the top of the screen.
- Letters fall down five lanes below it.
- Tap the letters in the order they appear in the word.
- Complete the word to score it and get a new target.
- Avoid tapping letters while they are flashing red.
- The round runs 90 seconds across five escalating speed tiers.
Scoring and XP
- 10 points per correct letter, with an 8 point penalty for a wrong one.
- A perfect word — no mistakes at all — pays a 50 point bonus.
- Missing a letter you needed costs a second off the clock.
- XP is 4 per letter and 10 per word, with 2 more for each perfect word.
- Ninety second rounds, five speed tiers, three sessions per run.
How to get better at Word Blitz
Perfect words are the real score
Fifty points for a clean word is worth five letters on its own. Letting a messy word go and waiting for a clean one usually beats forcing a word you have already fumbled.
Watch the lane, not the letter
By tier four the letters fall too fast to read individually. Track the lane your next letter is in and tap on position rather than reading — your eyes cannot keep up but your spatial sense can.
Red means wait
A flashing letter punishes you even when it is correct, and the flash is short. One beat of patience costs you nothing, while an eager tap costs you points and breaks your Word Combo.
