Logging in and resetting your password

How to log in with Google or email, and what to do if you forget your password.

Logging in should be the boring part. Here is how it works, plus what to do when your brain deletes your password.

Logging in

You have two options on the login page:

  • Continue with Google: tap it, choose the Google account you used to sign up, done.
  • Email and password: type the email you signed up with, then your password, then tap login.

{{callout:blue:Info}} Use the same method you signed up with. If you made your account with Google, use Continue with Google, not the email form.

Forgot your password?

It happens to the best of us, including people who made it a strong password yesterday.

  1. On the login page, tap Forgot password?
  2. Enter the email address on your account.
  3. Open the email we send you and tap the reset link.
  4. Choose a new password and save it.

{{callout:gold:Lightbulb}} For privacy, the page says "if an account exists" instead of confirming whether your email is registered. So if you get that message and no email, double check the address and look in your spam folder.

Picking a password that holds up

Your new password needs at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special symbol. A password manager makes this painless, and it will not forget things the way your cousin forgets to reply.

Common problems

The reset email isn't arriving

Check spam and junk, wait a couple of minutes, and make sure you typed the same email you signed up with. Then try once more.

It says my email isn't confirmed

You still need to confirm your email. See I didn't get my confirmation email for how to get a fresh link.

I can't log in even with the right details

Refresh the page, try another browser, or reset your password to start clean. If you still cannot get in, send us a request and mention the email on the account.

{{callout:red:ShieldCheck}} Chillverse staff will never ask for your password, ever. If someone does, it is not us, so do not send it.
